About

Jon Capus

Jon Capus [kay-pus] is a Canadian songwriter born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. As a solo performer, Jon’s material takes on folky, singer-songwriter qualities. The full band arrangements on his recordings are a heady blend of folk, rock, blues, jazz, prog, psychedelia, and pop together.

His sophomore album, The Woods, (releasing August 8th, 2025) is a pseudo-concept album with loose narrative threads woven throughout, ranging from love and death to witchcraft and tarot to monster movies and curling. As a multi-instrumentalist, Jon DIY’d the music, lyrics, art, recording, mixing, and mastering for the album.

Jon has opened for the likes of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Matt Epp, and The Sumner Brothers. He currently resides in his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. You can also find him playing in his other bands, Mt. Rotterdam & Becker.
